Energy Fair Ticket Information

Basic Information

Hours:
Friday, June 20: 9 am-7 pm with evening entertainment
Saturday, June 21: 9 am-7 pm with evening entertainment
Sunday, June 22: 9 am-5 pm

Ticket prices:
Adults (18-64): $10/day or $25/weekend
Senior (65+): $8/day or $15/weekend
Youth (13-17): $8/day or $15/weekend
Children under 12 are free

MREA members get into the Fair for FREE. Become a member at the front gate.

Save on gas and take the bus!

FREE SHUTTLES FROM STEVENS POINT
All Aboard! One pound of CO2 is emitted for every 1-mile driven. To save all of that carbon, we’re offering FREE shuttles to the Energy Fair from Stevens Point. Shuttles are offered hourly on the following schedule and route:

:00 Ramada Stevens Point
:20 Royale Inn
:25 Courtesy Motors Park & Ride - Hwy 10
:30 Holiday Inn & Conference Center
:45 Fair

Shuttle Hours: FRIDAY & SATURDAY 8 am-8:45 pm and 12 am; SUNDAY 8 am-6:45 pm

Please be waiting in front of the hotel for the shuttle. The driver will not enter the hotel to check for passengers.


The MREA is offering coordinated, daily bus service to the Energy Fair from: Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago. Buses feature air conditioning, restroom, and plush seating. Breakfast items served on the bus each morning to help jumpstart your day!

Madison Bus Details: The Madison bus will leave from the Memorial Union on campus each morning at 7am. It will then stop at the Dutch Mill Park and Ride to pick up any other riders. Bus will leave the Fair back for Madison at 7pm on Friday and Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.

Milwaukee Bus Details: The Milwaukee bus will leave from the Petit Ice Arena Park and Ride each morning at 7am. Bus will leave the Fair back for Milwaukee at 7pm on Friday and Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.

Chicago Bus Details: The Chicago Bus will leave from The Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg (3 Woodfield Mall) - outer parking lot of Sears. Bus will depart at 6am. There will be a 2nd bus pick up at the Rosemont el stop at 6:30am. Bus will leave the Energy Fair at 6:30pm on Friday and Saturday and at 5pm on Sunday.


GUIDED HOME TOURS

During the Energy Fair, there are guided tours of homes and businesses that feature renewable energy systems. Tours last approximately three hours, and are conducted on a school bus. There are only 44 seats available for each tour. These tours frequently sell out prior to the Fair, so purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended. There are no discounts for children, students, or seniors. Departures at 10am and 2pm daily.

Saturday Tours are sold out.

1. Business Tour - Friday, 10 am - Includes stops at Franks Hardware, UW-Stevens Point, Chet's Plumbing (new in '08), and the Stevens Point Fire Station #2 (new in '08). Technologies include solar hot air, solar hot water, solar thermal and green roof.

2. Home Tour - Friday, 2 pm - Includes stops at Waupaca area homes and businesses: Moondance Meadows Farm, Knutson Model Home, and Fox Valley Technical College (new in '08). Technologies covered include solar electric, timber frame, energy efficiency measures, passive solar design.

3. Home Tour - Saturday, 10 am - SOLD OUT

5. Home Tour - Sunday, 10 am - Includes stops at Stevens Point area homes: Becker Home, Menzel Home and S. Laskowski Home (new in '08). Technologies include solar electric, solar thermal and solar hot water, passive solar design, and other green building features.

6. Home Tour - Sunday, 2 pm - Includes stops at Amherst area homes: Dawson Choi Home, Ramlow Home, and Bratz-Stevens Home (new in '08). Technologies include solar electric, solar thermal and solar hot water, passive solar design, straw bale home, and other green building features.
