The Midwest Renewable Energy Association promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration.

Office Hours:
M-F 10am-4pm. Open to the public for tours daily at 2pm. To schedule other times or for more information, please click on "Visit" above.

Volunteer Opportunities

MREA -- Current Projects

Extra time on your hands? The MREA is always looking for volunteers to help us meet our mission.

Current needs include:

Filing and archiving. Help us catch up with our record keeping by spending a day or two in our office. Volunteer must have a great attention to detail. If interested please contact: Tehri.

Renew the Earth Institute -- Current Projects:

We are always working to improve the ReNew the Earth Institute. Our current projects include: new carpet in the education room (made from recycled carpet), a living and working permaculture demonstration, and thinning the woods at the Back 40.

If you would like to be involved in any of these projects please call Mike at 715-592-6595 ext.105. We can use volunteers for a couple hours or even for a couple of days

MREA Course Facilitation

On occasion, the MREA needs volunteers to help manage tasks during a workshop. These tasks include helping the instructor prepare the room, handing out course resources, and picking up and organizing materials at the end of the day – a full list of roles and responsibilities can be found HERE.
